A better way is to go to make an L shaped blade, remove the trim, get the L shaped blade so the short end is under the glass through the seal. Then feed some wire, picture frame wire or similiar will work, then put some WD40 on the wire and work it back and forth around the windshield. When removed clean all the gook off and prior to putting new sealant clean thoroughly with rubbing alcohol. I worked at a glass shop during high school and did tons of them...
